I read *The House in the Cerulean Sea* last year and felt just *meh* about it. Then I read *Under the Whispering Door,* couldn't stop gushing about it, bought *In the Lives of Puppets *as soon as it came out, and now re-read Cerulean Sea. While it's still not my favorite of Klune's (that honor goes to Whispering Door; omg that book!), I revised my opinion. I truly enjoyed this and read it in 2 sittings. Love it when that happens!

My second read for #20BooksOfSummer was a slight cheat. #BartlebyTheScrivener is a #ShortStory rather than a novel, but it was on my e-reader, so here we are!
It turns out that I had read it before but hadn't updated it on #LibraryThing. As soon as I started reading I remembered the story. A #reread did no harm, though. It's such a good tale.

Recently finished #Mistborn #TheFinalEmpire by #BrandonSanderson and started #TheWellOfAscension, continuing my #reread of the series. I have made progress on #Solasta in our 4-person co-op game and recently started playing a 2-person co-op game of #SunHaven. I absolutely love Sun Haven! It is very similar to #StardewValley in terms of mechanics while also including fantasy/magical elements. I was also gifted #TabletopSimulator and am excited to explore playing games using it. #books #gaming

Maybe this is just me, but when I was tracking books in #Goodreads I almost never #reread anything because the app made it such a pain to enter rereads

Now that I’m on #StoryGraph it’s way easier so I’m rereading all sorts of things and loving it!

(I realize reading log software shouldn’t dictate what I read, it’s a big part of why I switched)

Currently rereading the original #Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson, and it’s phenomenal all over again

3/3 Interval #GoodThings since the endish of January:

-I finished my first #Book of 2023: #TessOfTheEmeraldSea by #BrandonSanderson. I absolutely loved the book's characters - not just the heroine but the supporting characters as well.

-I started a #reread of Sanderson's #Mistborn #The FinalEmpire with the goal of doing my first #readthrough of the newest book in the series #TheLostMetal.

-My wife and I got married 6 years ago today! So we are going to take the spawnling and eat tasty ramen!

So I finished re-reading Foundation, by Isaac Asimov.

My first impression continued:
Narrative was way faster / breezy than when I read it 40 years ago. Doesn't feel so "grand" as it did then.

Weird/jarring:
- patriarchy, casual misogyny, women almost totally absent.
- smoking smoking smoking!

Very definitely a book about the Cold War, and an argument for soft power. It was 1951 after all.

A book *very* much of its time, and narrowly so.

Not great *literature* tho.

I just finished a #reread of Adrian Tchaikovsky's _Children of Time_, the first book of the trilogy, which I'd first read in 2019. This is one of those books where my understanding from the first time through eased the second reading, and I'm looking forward to book two (which we recently bought).

Finished a #reread of #HarrowTheNinth, second book of #TheLockedTomb series by Tamsyn Muir.
