I feel like we need more discussion on the pricing of resale. It’s a thing.

I sold a pair of Kate Spade heels through TheRealReal and only got 30% of the cut. That was not well advertised. I will not work with them again.

My local consignment stores may lack the official verification processes but as a seller are so much more amenable.

Detail from the vintage Dior piece I bought a week or so ago. I think it was originally a layered silk nightgown but I fully intend to wear it as a dress. I need to get some stitching repaired on the strap but it’s pretty minor.

Oh and the Bonnie Cashin coat also arrived.

@jquillin I find it only works if I know exactly what I need- and a site has it. I’ve been looking for black cashmere turtlenecks - as soon as I favorite them they are gone in days before I decide if they’ll work/if they’re actually in good shape for the price. I quickly bought (two) from the Real Real bc of this & both had bad moth holes. So I’m having a very diff perspective on #resale right now. And I still don’t have another black cashmere turtleneck.

Unpopular opinion/angle: #resale totally contributes to impulse buying & might be worse since often there is only "one" in your size etc... It's hard to have time to think @ if you actually need something so you're forced to impulse buy b/c you don't want to miss out...

But let's keep talking about how #resale or #recycled & various other "innovations" will fix fashion... #dothemath #commonsense
