gobankingrates.com/retirement/

This article is garbage. A 1 bedroom apartment in Kitchener-Waterloo costs $2000, same in Guelph.

Gobankingrates.com has proven itself to be a non-reputable source. Block time!

I was horrified to read the methodology of this survey. They screened out respondents that didn’t find the most difficult to work with, then they reported Gen Z is difficult to work with. Out of 1000, that screening removed 347 respondents.

Then picked it up and reported unfavourably on Gen Z based on those biased findings.

Digital Scholarship Days @unioslo is on! 🙌🏻 @arockenberger is teaching a fantastic @pandoc workshop on sustainable authorship in plain text - with some errors and some successes on my part when I try to both help and follow 😬

Do you teach at a university and worry that your students lack the skills to write a bibliography, a research project, a state of the art? Is it end-of-term panic mode for some students?

Direct them to the open access resources of the uni of Geneva, in English and French: infotrack.unige.ch/
Fun, well done, clear, free.

Great tips for doing literature review, project design, chosing a research question and so on!

I wish publishers would as a matter of course provide online tables of contents for all their edited books that include page ranges, for tired copyeditors who have to research this stuff because the page range is missing from the reference list

Some publishers do this and they are legends! Others do not. Whether this stuff is in library catalogues is kind of up to whether a librarian felt like they could be bothered on the day

Don't be rubbish....

For real though, don't do the stuff you know is bad.

has a bad habit in that everyone just does what the people ahead of them do.

Even if it's crap

Too much text on slides - we all know it's bad yet it still happens

Tiny graphs no one can read

All the rest

Just because others do it doesn't mean you have to.

Do talks you would want to watch

Ppt gets a bad rep when it comes to presentations.

But it has some super handy features - here's a post wrote with 5 hacks you may not know about, including the mighty background removal tool 👇

Hello and .

I'm a Librarian at coordinating research skills training, including Advanced Information Research Skills (AIRS). airs.library.qut.edu.au/

Keen to explore ways in which we can use this space to work with colleagues and/or students. I've been an active participant and am considering alternatives.
