During our first grid outage our Enphase #residentialSolar system reported issues with microinverters not reporting via the monitoring app. They all came back online when the grid reconnected. Could it be the system throttling production to match use while unable to push excess up to the grid? Have any other #Enphase #solar users had this experience?

Scheduled power outage for utility line work has let me test my #residentialSolar backup plan. The good news is that the transfer from on grid to #offGrid was seamless. The bad news is that all the outlets on one side of the house are a single circuit, and the fuse isn't a high enough amperage to power to portable AC units at full power. Have to see if we can upgrade the fuse.

My electricity provider has told me to expect a 4hr outage on Tuesday. It's going to be 34c with a heat index of 43c, so Hot! Sounds like a good day to test out our #residentialSolar and #batteryBackup system powering two portable AC units as well as the fridge and other essential things.

One of the reasons we went #solar and included a #batterybackup was grid problems. We had a live test this morning when we lost grid power for 5 minutes and didn't notice. Everything worked as planned. #residentialsolar

Thanks to all who have replied.
What I have learnt so far from this thread.
Increased rooftop solar penetration should incentivise more storage.
Your electricity bill will probably shift from energy production to energy transfer. Paying for plies and wires.
Donβt assume everyone lives in sunny Qld where really, there is only one season. π

I really do wonder about this. #RenewableEnergy
Solar farms had to shut down during the day coz residential solar was sending prices negative.#SthAust
As rooftop increases, will retailers be left bidding to power industry while households pay almost nothing.
And will govt limit rooftop solar to appease profits?
