Controlled-environment survival scenarios are farce. All that tech requires huge investment, available technology, tools and energy, people, lots of people but it can't reliably produce food without LOTS of chemicals. Nope. More fantasy and hopium.

Me thinx it's high time to build the social pressure for dealing with this calamity in front of us (planetary heating + massive species extinction + everything else). Since this video was released (7 years ago), we've learned again and again that the globe is warming much faster than we predicted. Recently Hansen et.al. concluded that ~4°C is inevitable in the short loop and 10+°C is inevitable in the long loop. Not looking so good for designer tomatoes. Too late? Still must press on.

Well... I guess we really should try (authentically). But, it seems that ~4°C is baked into the short loop and ~10°C into the long loop (according to recent Hansen et al). So... ack. Still... gotta try. Perennial woodies, more climax forests, etc and of course the obvious:

@g1comics @bethsawin Yes, yes... the simple conservation measures we can take. Plus, we look really cool in our warmies sans plastic when we can. I like to warm a flagstone on the wood stove and lay it under the blankets before I call in for the night. But, hot water bottles do the trick, too.
