Mastodon tip. I've been here a few months, so still a relative newb. But one thing I have learned. Don't engage if you feel good faith is being violated. You're building your community for your purposes, and you have the right to protect the integrity of that process. This will likely entail the use of muting, unfollowing, or blocking, as necessary. This is not mean or exclusionary, merely self protective. I like muting personally, as it doesn't feed any fires.
