I am struggling with it/its ( pronoun.fandom.com/wiki/It/Its ) as a neo-pronoun. I've encountered this pronoun usage a few times now and I want to do some processing ahead of time in case I ever need to use these pronouns for someone. Is this a pronoun you use for yourself? Can you please share your answers to the FAQs you get about your pronoun or point me to where to learn more? Thanks!

Hey Science Teachers—Here's why Gender Inclusive Curriculum Matters:

It reduces inaccuracy & confusion by replacing shortcut labels (e.g., man, woman, dad, mom, etc) and inaccurate concepts of sex and gender binaries, with specific and accurate scientific terms and facts. This helps to normalize gender, sexuality and family diversity across species, while destigmatizing intersex traits. This, in turn, helps decrease the disproportionate rates of harassment, discipline, violence and absenteeism among LGBTQIA+ students and provides a factual basis for resisting school or district policies that misuse biology to discriminate against trans, nonbinary and intersex people.

Research shows that at schools that utilize Gender Inclusive language and curriculum, students are much less likely to feel unsafe because of their sexual orientation, or because of their gender expression, which, in turn, reduces absenteeism due to safety concerns. Colleges that utilize Gender Inclusive language and curriculum also have higher rates of STEM degree completion among queer, trans, nonbinary and intersex students.
