Just got done work and after tip out I’m walking with ~$130. My first thought was “oh man killer night!, best I’ve had in a while!” And then my second thought was how sad that < $150 is my current definition of a “killer night.” Oh well. It’s only for the summer and then we rebid our shifts

Any chef will tell you that it hurts less and is more annoying to deal with when you get a cut or injury. Fiancé suggested I seal the wound with Superglue (🤘🏻so metal🤘🏻)…

Here’s what #valentinesday means to me.

I’ll work 13 straight days. My last day off was last Tuesday. My next day off will be next Monday.
I’ll work 15 hours today.
I’ll be verbally abused by guests on at least one occasion.
All of my waitstaff will make more money than I do.

All of this so that my company can brag about making BILLIONS (annually.)

I still can’t pay my bills.

I am shredded ⚰️ I stood in for the junior who normally does service because she needs the break (and her skills are under utilized, we had her on something else). Holy shit. We ran out of every dessert, the chit machine would not relent. I called for back-up (my CdP and the junior jumped in).

(kind of relieved I don’t do service anymore, unless back-up is called for).

I need to go home and die on the couch.

I had to plate for an 🥴🥴🥴iNfLuEnCeR🥴🥴🥴 party last night. FOH staff comes into the pastry kitchen to see 25 plates of chocolate mousse and sabayon laid out and they were like, “Oh they’re not eating these. There is nothing that will fit in those dresses. Btw, so many dead animals in there.” (referring to their furs)
