For #Caturday, another dive into the #RetroCaturday archives. This magnificent #floof is Oscar, who was born in my partner's house. Faced with the problem of finding a home for him, she cunningly asked a friend to cat-sit the kitten, a ploy that worked exactly the way she hoped.

Oscar was one part domestic lion, one part immortal Chinese dragon, and two parts dust bunny.

For #Caturday, here's a #RetroCaturday picture of a cat who lived on a boat in Prek Toal, Siem Reap province, Cambodia, proving that the feline affinity for sunbeams is universal.

Incidentally, tailless cats are common in Cambodia (also cats with short or kinked tails). It's thought to be genetic, but experts disagree whether Cambodian cats are related to the Japanese bobtail or the Manx, or whether they're a distinct breed of their own.

Sydney was later adopted by my friend J. and moved to Boston, where he started collecting items from other people's gardens: mostly gardening gloves. He would often bring home one glove one day & then go back for its mate the next day. Once he even came home with a baby onesie (fortunately without the baby inside).
