fuck, I'm so pleased with a pixelization technique I've figured out.
Step 1: make piccrew (This one is from PotatoLord and it's very good!)
Step 2: import into GIMP
Step 3: shift+S and scale it down to size
Step 4: touch up some frayed pixels and add outline+highlights.

Tinkered with Light!Twin's palette and filled it out. I've found a few places to tweak the brush work on both of them, but I'm really happy with how these two are coming together so far!
