I love all of these #Linux handheld gaming devices by #Retroid, #Miyoo and #Anbernic, but they still don’t beat first-party devices like the #Nintendo Switch and 3DS. Mostly for stability, performance, and online play. Even the retro emulation they offer is top notch.

@pedroadelino Yeahhhh, it was a scam. 😅 I ended up getting a #Retroid Pocket 3+ instead (which I'm really, really happy with). And it was surprisingly easy to get a refund on AliExpress, so that's something.

Hopefully the different screen size on the #Miyoo Mini Plus means they can keep up with demand and this won't be an issue going forward. 🤞

Been getting more into the groove of using my #Retroid lately. And remebering I should use it tonplay more games that are, less available, than like, Wario titles.

So I played through #Castlevania Adventure Rebirth, a WiiWare title remake of the Game Boy Castlevania Adventure.

I have no idea why it looks so weirdly low rez, maybe it just... Is... It was an interesting title that eschews the SOTN Metroidvania style for classic stages. A bit tricky in places, thankfully, Save States: Exist.

Anyone here with an RP2+ try flashing the Android 11 upgrade yet? Is there any actual performance benefit? I've heard the Unisoc tool is a bit of a pain to use and I've got mime setup nicely. Just trying to gauge if it's worth it--notably with GameCube games, but also just in general.

I picked up a Retroid Pocket 3+ last week for some retro gaming fun. It’s fantastic and really plucking those nostalgia strings. #android #emulation #retroid

Is anyone following me with a hacked #PSVita, and who could tell me if it's worth using as an emulation device?

I'd need to fix my battery to get it running again, but if it doesn't run shit, I can just as well just use the money for a #Retroid or similar.

Update: While I do love the chunkiness of the #Piboy, it will be a gift for someone. Was hoping it came sooner but covid issues in China delayed it. Hopefully in the future the RP5 will fit in it with little issues. Think the #retroid 3+ will be my new travel buddy over the switch.

The Deck is amazing and all, but once the novelty finally wore off I'm glad I have devices like the Retroid around.

For some systems it's just the better way to play.

@Tio Right?! At the moment I've only got a #Retroid Pocket 2 (not even a 2+). Which, considering how popular the thing was, can't even run #GBA without stuttering. 😂

I think the #Miyoo is exactly what I need. As long as I can do #Pokémon ROM hacks and the original #CrashBandicoot trilogy I'm pretty much sorted haha.

Took some setting up but my retroid pocket 3 is now loaded with tons of roms and emulators, plus moonlight for streaming from my desktop, and minecraft for funsies.

Thinking of hacking it with some sugru to improve the grip.
