Today we got to play #ReturntoDarkTower for the first time. It is a fascinating game, not only because of its theme, but also thanks to its app and beautiful animated tower. I really loved this game!

On the left is Black 3.0 dry-brushed on the mane over Citadel’s Abaddon Black (Air). The right is Citadel Black Legion (Contrast) over Vallejo German Panzer Grey (Surface Primer).
I really like the deep matte finish of the Black 3.0 for the mane so that’ll be my main technique. The naked primer is a less glossy finish than the airbrushed Abaddon, so I’ll probably combine that with the less dark Black Templar (Contrast) for the body.

It's game day! #ReturnToDarkTower

Got to play both Dark Tower and #ReturnToDarkTower yesterday. It's fascinating to compare the two. You can clearly see what the designers identified as the original game's main appeal and more importantly the emotional impact on players back then.

This is what they aimed to capture in Return. The new dark tower is foreboding and only makes things harder for you. It's not capricious but arbitrary and threatening. Rewards are hard fought, the best you can hope for is it staying dormant.

#returntodarktower is just the best #boardgame. I can’t get enough of this thing. Each scenario plays so differently from the last. Simple to learn, hard to master.
