@wasted NiMH and Li+ cells / batteries. NiMH by cycling (discharging and charging with small current 100-200 mA) can be #refurbished and the capacity can be somehow restored (in my experience to 60-90%), Li-Ion cells from laptops are checked (the capacity) and #reused for #diy powerbanks like this on picture. To be honest, I haven't bought any AA/AAA battery in last 5-7 years.

Reusing filament is more effective than recycling, and now you can repurpose an Ender 3 (even an unrefurbished return unit) to make filament from plastic bottles:
