Been trying to improve the collision system to handle more on screen. It's still not working properly, but at least you can see it more closely to what's intended.

Continued work on my hybrid particle Emitter idea. Looks like it might just work.
Seems to be quite quick too. I need get the direction of particle emissions to work... they just fall off the screen currently 😅

Working some more on ad particles and I've realised that I can't respond to the particle collisions. I can only think that the next step is creating a hybrid approach using GPU particles as cosmetic and rolling my own collidable particles for the game play. The cosmetic ones would be more muted colours since they can't react... Maybe

I'm back to the day job after the Xmas break, but I'm going to keep working on and try my best to keep the focus going. I've been thinking of how best to generate the increasingly larger blocks.
My current idea is place box semi-randomly so that they meander downwards from the level divider line. If anyone has better ideas then my ears/eyes are open! 😀

Worked a little more on this morning.

I followed up on the idea to use the subdividing blocks horizontally or vertically to make subdividing rectangular blocks.

Reworked the level divider to make use of the new object and it working nicely! 🙂
