The reasons for that are simple:

• The #Apple device isn't released to the public yet
• The reviewers who heaped praise on it, were hand-selected and could only use the drive for 30min with an Apple rep present

These are not the conditions to properly learn about a new chapter in #computer and #tech #history

Looks like I've smashed my new online EPK format according to some feedback from a couple of folk who know about that sort of thing.

So much so, that I'm probably going to retrospectively do some for previous releases - it brings together a bunch of resources quite nicely.

And, to be honest, most of my older music is still new to a lot of folk, so they may still be interested in some info on them and I might sneak some older stuff into some playlists/review blogs…😉😆

Anyway - I'm compiling a list of any DJs, Radio Shows,Bloggers, Vloggers, reviewers, magazines, labels etc etc on Mastodon who may be interested in receiving an EPK from me every now and again when I release some tunes, so please let me know if that’s you, or you know of anyone who might be interested.

Reviewing for #journals in my field is something I’m happy to do to contribute back to my community.

Lately, though, I’ve received several papers that are so poorly written as to be unreadable.

I have read many complaints about editors having trouble finding #reviewers. I could review more papers if editors had a higher standard for when to send papers out for review.

Deciding whether a manuscript is up to the writing standards of a journal is up to the editor.

I ask this because I've noticed an increase of writers - #indie or signed by a major publisher - complain and share bad reviews knowing full well what their following will do. Then have the audacity to play victim when they're called out on it.

I have a question! So I'm going to do a #poll thingie.

Should #writers / #authors 'invade' #readers / #reviewers spaces? Such as a commenting on a reader's #review of their #novel on #GoodReads, #StoryGraph, #Amazon, personal blog, etc.

#PeerJ, for which I am an #editor, has always offered authors the opportunity to #publish the #peer #review history alongside their accepted #manuscript. There are a number of benefits to this including adding #context and #transparency.

This policy will now be mandatory for all papers submitted starting 13 Feb 2023.

#Reviewers never have to reveal their identity, but #public reviews will get #citable credit and credit towards #OA publication in the journal.
