Was given an #xboxone and told if I could resurrect it I could keep it. All it needed was new storage, so I’m #attempting to #reload the #OS into it.

I primarily use #Linux (#rhel9 currently) and so naturally I’m giggling at the idea of booting any #Windows to load #NTFS formatting tools. I used #gparted to format the drive, let’s be real.

Anyhoo. Waiting on #fuse-ntfs to get around to finishing the actual transfer. #rsync was done 3 minutes ago xD

I was debating on writing a script that could clock transfer speeds and know if it was fuse-ntfs3g to put a sleep timer on it (doing math to figure out the time) and then just alert me when it “finishes” so I can check it.

Finally taking some time to set up a #RHEL9 system to start studying for the #RHCSA exam...

Couple of things to consider:
1/ Filesystem sprawl is really a thing. If you have too many filesystem you’ll end up micromanaging them. Depending how large and heterogeneous your systems are … that might end up as a job.
2/ What version of rhel is this? SCL in RHEL7 provided different paths depending what versions of psql you were using . Not sure what happened in rhel8 with appstreams or what will happen in #rhel9 when a new version lands …

Wow. I clearly been living under a rock. #ubuntu servers for work, #nixos for personal stuff, and #popos for home. Completely missed #rhel9 came out... 🙃

It used to be I had calendar events for #redhat releases. 😅 Nowadays, container orchestrations have made it harder keeping track.

Not being on top of redhat like the company work is the Linux Bible? 🤔 Pretty sure past me would've crucified present me for the transgression. 😁

It appears that I'm in luck. A quick interrogation of a CentOS Stream 9 (future RHEL 9.1) VM shows the Intel GPU driver (crocus_dri.so) present. It is not present in RHEL 9.0

I noticed something while doing a 'uname -a' on CentOS Stream 9 VM. Dynamic preemption has been added to the EL9 kernel. This should show up on RHEL/Alma/Rocky 9.1 in Q4.
