Der Clinical Disease Activity Index - kurz #CDAI - ist zur Messung von Behandlungseffekten ist bei krankheitsmodifizierenden #Antirheumatika erste Wahl. Denn andere Messinstrumente wie #SDAI und #DAS28 können die Effekte überschätzen.

Ein Team um IQWiG-Autorinnen hat die verfügbaren Messinstrumente auf einer breite Datenbasis verglichen.

#rheumatoidearthritis A rheumatologist told me once about the trade-off in meds like #methotrexate, #leflunomide etc -- they knock off maybe 5 years of your life in exchange for an increased mobility, less inflammation, maybe a few more years of less pain etc? There seem to have been periods in my life, where the meds are really embedded down after months of use, where the trade-off seems to be worth it. Thats with Lefl. Other periods (such as now), I'm not so sure.

(At least the body is doing something instead of just saying "deal with it" when I'm in pain. *Wait*, that's already doing something, technically it's the body's fault I'm in pain.)

I can carry on the #ereader with the adventures of Xerses and co. Not having to keep a book open and having to manage something a lot lighter (no matter how long the tome!) and less eyebleeding than a phone (yay for #sjogren) is great.
