In the past three months, we’ve had:

* #RSV, #rhinovirus, #enterovirus — all three diagnosed on the same panel, hitting all four family members and hospitalizing the infant

* another random cold, hitting 2/4

* and now #Norovirus, hitting 3/4 (so far) plus another 5/8 extended family members as a special Christmas treat

I’m so very tired of being sick. And we’ve not even tackled the #flu, #strep, or #covid. WTF is this?

Hello from Day 5 (!!) of my second head cold from Hell. Seeing as it’s once again #COVID19 (and #flu and #rhinovirus) season, perhaps my fellow #Catholic friends would join me in properly washing those hands. One Our Father and One Hail Mary should do it!

Remember, there are a lot of folks out here who are immunocompromised. Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your face, and stay home when ill (or stay masked when unavoidable). Let’s take care of each other!

Let me make this *abundantly* clear. If you are symptomatic or at risk of being infectious with something that could complicate your patient’s clinical course, a fit-tested respirator is a low cost measure that you as a healthcare worker ignore to the detriment of your patient’s safety.
This is not a controversial take & is reflected in the current COVID policy instituted in many hospitals, but is likely just as relevant for #influenza, #RSV, #Rhinovirus, & HMPV. #Masks #COVID19 #PatientSafety

Not really.

Doctors say they are facing several serious viruses in children's hospitals right now: RSV, flu, enterovirus, rhinovirus, Covid, and others.
