1️⃣ There are some amusing moments but it's quite a lacklustre episode. A storm in a teacup. Joe is out of sorts but he won't tell Rhoda what's wrong. She's worried. He visits his father (#RobertAlda) for advice. In the end it turns out to be absolutely nothing.

1️⃣ 11 weeks in, and Rhoda is now almost unrecognisable as the character we all fell in love with on #TheMaryTylerMooreShow. Here, for example, she and her husband face a pregnancy scare.

2️⃣ First episode where we spend a lot of time with Joe away from Rhoda. Also the first episode where Joe is likeable.

3️⃣ #BeverlySanders is back as Susan. Very funny lady.

1️⃣ So, Rhoda is now married to Joe. And, as he gets more screentime, it’s really clear that Joe isn’t funny/likeable. He’s actually a bit of a grouch. In this episode he hurts Brenda’s feelings. Also, the newlyweds have no chemistry.

2️⃣ #RichardRomanus (who played mob boss Tommy Tedesco on both #TenspeedAndBrownShoe and #TheATeam) guest stars as a colourful undercover cop. Funny guy. Would have liked to have seen that character again.

Not many laughs.

🔲 When #NancyWalker is on screen, it’s funny. Otherwise, not so much. The early scenes, set on the first morning of the marriage, are sweet. The later ones, set on a cruise ship full of retirees, aren’t as amusing as the show wants them to be.

2️⃣ It contains a lot of location filming, with #ValerieHarper running through the streets of New York City. In a wedding dress! And all done for real.

3️⃣ Most of the cast of #TheMaryTylerMooreShow appear: #GeorgiaEngel, #MaryTylerMoore, #EdAsner, and #GavinMacLeod.

4️⃣ All the best lines go to #ClorisLeachman and #NancyWalker.

1️⃣ #DavidLloyd’s script is hilarious, #BettyWhite’s delivery is astonishing. Every line she utters is brilliant. A masterclass.

2️⃣ The gang are preparing for the wedding of #Rhoda (#ValerieHarper) when someone (#LindaKelsey from #LouGrant!) shows up looking for a job in television.

3️⃣ Everyone gets a chance to shine, but nobody outshines White as Sue Ann fights to keep her job. I pressed rewind several times to rewatch her scenes.
