That's me done in the kitchen for today. I ate two small pies. The rest are for the freezer.
For the pie-hards, the filling consisted of:
- a roux type sauce, with 4 egg yolks and lots of mustard
- oven roasted carrots (from the freezer)
- parboiled potatoes, which were then sautéed with leek and bacon
- rum-soaked dried fruit (I keep a big jar of r&f on a shelf.)
- freezer peas
+ Cheese on top for the big pie and two of the smaller ones.
