We always try to see #RichardThompson when he is touring near us. I was reminded of this version of Crawl Back (a big fan favorite) that contains lots of nice callbacks to other tunes and breaks into a great bit of The Isrealites in the middle. He is usually solo when he is here, but this band in 2004 was great, and I think that is Peter Zorn singing harmony.

I’ve cued the link to the song, which starts at 1:09:45 and is the best tune in the whole concert, I think.

#DelMcCoury and the boys lifted my soul last night! Highlights: Sweet Appalachia, High on a Mtn, 1952 Vincent Black Lightning (#RichardThompson), On Board, Dark Hollow - Del told a story about how he used to sing the latter in Bill Monroe's band but never recorded it. Trad #bluegrass doesn't get any better. Also got to enjoy a rare show with my wife - thanks uncle for babysitting!

Listening to the Fairport Convention "Heyday" record, radio tracks recorded pre-Unhalfbricking I believe as these feature a lot of Ian Matthews. Which is good news for me as I LOVE Ian Matthews! Apparently the personality clash was they were all middle class and he was working class or something...and he loved country music. There's great stuff in here!
