I was thinking to myself how oddly heart-warming it is to see Rick Astley enjoying this late burst of success, based purely on a meme that was - kind of - meant to take the piss out of him.

I mean, it's not that I'm a fan of the music myself. Teenage goth me would be appalled while twenties stoner me would assume I was being ironic.

But it's far enough back in the past to have become properly nostalgic for me now. And the guy does seem like a nice bloke.
