Ohmigawd I feel OLD. I *loved* this show when I was a kid, and I remember wishing I had a teacher who was a witch and who magically opened doors to a different world just by drawing a door on the chalkboard.

The episode that stuck with me the most was the one where the villains "stole" parts of the world by taking photographs and making whatever it was they photographed disappear. And they had some kind of machine that "developed" the film so that the stolen item is turned back into its original form.

Oh, man. Oh, and Rick Springfield -- my oldest sister was in total lust, man. And she wasn't in high school yet. Egad.

🎬 "Ricki and The Flash" (2015) left me gobsmacked first time I saw it at Christmas. Meryl Streep is, well, she's everything in my estimates since "Kramer vs Kramer" & Sophie's Choice" et brilliant al.

The trailer is well-done, doesn't oversell and gives you a taste of what delights you may expect from a chef's-kiss script (#DiabloCody) directed by #JonathanDemme with Kevin Kline (has he played a Republican since "The Big Chill?") and Streep's daughter IRL, Mamie Gummer. BONUS: #RickSpringfield.

A long time ago, John Davidson had an afternoon talk show, and #RickSpringfield was on it where he did what everyone else did back then--lip sync to his track, "Jessie's Girl." And when it was over, he sat on the couch, and John Davidson says to him, "So, what kind of music is that--is it punk?" LOL

And Rick says something like, "No, it's pop. Pop rock." He had a look on his face like, "What are you, an idiot?"
