@TechConnectify I just saw (inside a 7-11/Speedway gas station yesterday) a "Buy 2 items from our cooler and get 10 cents/gal off at our pumps!

It's this kind of thing they could use to reduce charging costs as well. Sell over-priced drinks to boost people's interest in charging at that location.

So, I met my first rude #Canadian today. He was my 2nd #rideshare passenger.

He actually said (unbidden) "Well, it seems to me that both parties are the problem. If you Democrats had gotten off your "don't kill"/"capital punishment" thing & just shot those Jan 6th'ers when they attacked your capital, Trump wouldn't be running right now! Anyway. He's gonna win"

How do I take THAT apart & tell him how wrong THAT is!

I've been home for 2 days so far cos my bumper is getting repainted due to the original bumper repair failing miserably. (They're paying for it to be re-done, but not for time-off-work! 🤬) I've got 2 more days off work to come (#rideshare driver).

This is so weird.

Today I had a passenger in my #rideshare say - without me bringing up the subject - "I'm one of the few people in which the #Pfizer #vaccine causes #cancer. I'm probably gonna die soon!"

All I could think - God help me - was "Good. Less propagation of lies!" 🙄

What I actually said was "I hope you aren't suffering too badly."

Drivers have to worry about how passengers rate them. 😳

I mean, Stride - an app I use all day long as a #rideshare driver to record mileage - sticks it's stupid self-made-location-arrow icon in it even though when it's in use iOS already puts up the "location arrow" at the top of my iPhone...

#Lyft #rideshare I’m curious, how many people still use Lyft? For awhile, I thought it was a great concept - until it wasn’t. I travel a LOT with my work. When I go to major market areas, I try not to rent a car. I rely on all sorts of public transport, but sometimes I have to use a taxi or ride share. In the past year I’ve had horrible experiences with Lyft. They’ve left me stranded numerous times, and this last time a driver tried to shake me down for cash. I’m done with Lyft.

Let's clarify some #Uber facts about #WaitTimeFees:

Uber #rideshare #drivers can't "mark themselves as arrived". They CAN (& some like me) DO send an "I have arrived" msg to you BUT that does not start the #WaitTime meter. Uber SETS arrival locations MOSTLY based on where the USER says to pick them up - but in some places (hotels, amusement parks, convention centers) they HAVE a GPS point to go to before the clock starts.

If you put this #Octopus system in your car - or ANY ad-based system like it - and it is sitting 1' in front of my face (the car was a Corolla - small), I'll be docking you 1 star!

This system which blares ads in my face - who's mute button engages only UNTIL the next ad, then unmutes - is NOT rider-friendly!

Also, when I tell you the speed in my retirement community is STRICTLY 15mph, then GO 15mph, not 25mph! 1 more star!

Hey #Uber, the answer is not giving underpaid #rideshare #drivers a bonus of $1 each ride if they have an EV...to try to get the drivers to buy an EV.

If we could afford it, we would!

MAYBE the answer is to stop letting #riders order a ride for 6 blocks away & sending the driver 15 min to pick them up.

MAYBE the answer is telling the rider "No Ubers in your area. Try again later."

You'd decrease #CO2 levels more by not sending us 10 miles for a 1 mile trip!

You'd also save the driver money!
