@lauramarie The healing power of dance has been recognized by healers and shamans througout the ages (but by modern medicine, not so much).
Dance is even more important for many of us on the spectrum who by nature are constantly in motion. Neurotypicals are unnerved by all the movement in most contexts.
On the dance floor, it's OK to move, AND WE DO!
Dancing is the best stim there is.
Another great stim is giving massage.
The only medicine I am taking is cannabis. That smooths out some of the rough edges, and does not have any of the ill effects you describe (rather the contrary, actually).
Since the doctors have left healing dance to realm of shamans and magicians, it is up to us.
I periodically do healing dance workings/workshops. The basic formula is to draw healing energy up through our bodies as we move, use it and then send it forth to whoever needs it.
I am initiating the hashtag #HealingDance
