I've had my interest in the historical stuff in Northumberland rekindled, here's my favourite field of rigg and furrow, at Edlingham., picked out by the late afternoon winter light. It does cross my mind that there are thousands of acres of land in the county where people once grew vegetables and which are now grazed by subsidised sheep. Mad.
