My weaving is a bit of a slog, as I had some other commitments but I brought my loom home, so I’m hoping to make some progress here. I’ve thrown some yellow and orange snippets into the pink and blue to make it more sunsetlike.

Looking for your thoughts on rigid heddle looms (I’ve only used a floor loom but don’t have room for that now). What rigid heddle look do you recommend and why? What width? Are you happy with the types of projects you can do? What dent heddle is your favorite?

This shawl is making its way to a new owner today. I hope she gets much enjoyment and use out of it. Woven on a #RigidHeddle loom, using my #Traligill non superwash organic merino (the charcoal grey - aka Assynt Peat) and my Burras singles merino (in various colours), it is as soft as a soft thing, and deliciously squishy. Pattern was from The Wheel, a magazine produced by Ashford.

Ja tämmöinen huivista tuli. Olen loppupeleissä varsin tyytyväinen siihen miten värit meni, pohjalanka olisi saanut olla vielä tummempi, mutta ei ole niin justiinsa. Nyt odottelen vähän että tuo asettuu ja päättelen langanpäät ja mietin miten hapsut laitan.

And it is finished. Quite happy how the colors turned out, but the weft could have been darker.

That is all 4 colours now incorporated in this piece. The blue is much brighter than I wanted, but it does add a nice flash of colour.

A new warp on the small loom today. This will hopefully work out well enough to allow me to make a new laptop cover after it is done. I enjoy weaving tartan style colours and for this I am using my #ArcadiaDK yarn base in colours Moonshine, Ripe Rowan Berries, Shimmering Sea (not available online) and Assynt Peat.

Yesterday was going to be #weaving day. Unfortunately for me, a little stripey tiger called Binky decided I wasn’t giving her enough attention and that was the end of that 😄

This is an #Ashford #RigidHeddle #Loom . I also have a #Mirrix upright tapestry loom which is used mainly for small tapestries and beaded and woven jewellery.
