In this case, it is a reproduction of a textile found as a decoration on the apron of a young woman, called The Lady In Blue.
The find is dated to the 10th century in Iceland ❤️

In this case, it is woven with a tablet weaving method.
It is a reproduction of a find found in the Siksälä region, in Estonia, and is dated between the 12th and 14th centuries 🧵

Question for those that know about #weaving
I bought this colorful ball of sock yarn at a needlecraft fair recently. I'd planned knitting socks, but know I'm thining about weaving with it.
I have 100 g / 420 m. The yarn has long stretches of each color (visible at the left edge of the ball band). I thought about using it as warp and using black yarn as weft to get a lengthwise striped scarf. I have a cone of super thin merino.

I finished Project #2, which turned out to be 5.5ft long and 22" wide, with a twisted fringe and perfect size for a wrap. Mix of wool and wool/silk blend yarns, very comfy and warm to wear. Learned a lot more techniques with this one!

What is needed on the shortest day of the year? Colour! Naturally. Really enjoying this colour gamp I'm weaving at the moment. It has ALL the colours. Pieces like this are woven mostly to experiment with colour interactions and it can be kept as a reference for future project when choosing colours.
