I made 2,5m in total, woven in a rigid heddle loom and it's made of merino wool.

It's 1,2cm wide, super tiny! 🥰

Finished my third loom project using wool. So happy with how this turned out, thou my kitten decided to destroy a bit of the tassels 😅

Also the music added has been a favourite of mine that my amazing husband @mrmcsquirrel made many moons ago. His remix of the song “Me I’m Not” by Nine Inch Nails - they are the one and only band that get me in the place I need to be when it comes to oil painting 💖

My test piece of weaving, a colour gamp, is off the loom. It is longer than I thought it was when I put it on the loom so will make a lovely scarf once washed and tidied up. It is really interesting to see how the colour interact with one another, and how some colours appear dominant to my eye - especially that silvery grey (Moonshine). It could just be the way I see colour, and to others other shades may appear more dominant.

What is needed on the shortest day of the year? Colour! Naturally. Really enjoying this colour gamp I'm weaving at the moment. It has ALL the colours. Pieces like this are woven mostly to experiment with colour interactions and it can be kept as a reference for future project when choosing colours.

Took a weaving project off the loom today. It didn't turn out exactly as I had hoped, and I actually changed to plain weave half way through, but the first section was a log cabin weave which was fun to do, but you needed to concentrate! I'm not sure what I'll use the fabric for yet, but it'll be good for something.

This shawl is making its way to a new owner today. I hope she gets much enjoyment and use out of it. Woven on a #RigidHeddle loom, using my #Traligill non superwash organic merino (the charcoal grey - aka Assynt Peat) and my Burras singles merino (in various colours), it is as soft as a soft thing, and deliciously squishy. Pattern was from The Wheel, a magazine produced by Ashford.

That is all 4 colours now incorporated in this piece. The blue is much brighter than I wanted, but it does add a nice flash of colour.

A new warp on the small loom today. This will hopefully work out well enough to allow me to make a new laptop cover after it is done. I enjoy weaving tartan style colours and for this I am using my #ArcadiaDK yarn base in colours Moonshine, Ripe Rowan Berries, Shimmering Sea (not available online) and Assynt Peat.

My Traligill Yarn base is an organic, non superwash merino 4ply which is lovely to work with, and I have used it for both knitting and weaving. Using it for weaving results in a beautifully soft fabric.
