Dear Riggers
when using Tweak Ctrl Widgets don't use completly round "balls". Make the curve on the horizontal plane into a dimond shape. This way its easier for animators to keep track of the axis while animating.

Added this to my Blender, shortcut buttons to switch between armature Pose and Edit and mesh Weight modes. Also basic armature controls in Weight Paint mode.

Every rigger wants to translate & rotate skinned joints at some point. But the Move Skinned Joints Tool only allows translation and exits on rotation.
To enable "Move Joints Mode" permanently, execute in MEL:
moveJointsMode 1;
To disable:
moveJointsMode 0;
I hadn't skinned for a few months.
Then today I discovered some shortcuts I didn't know :)

When painting weights with animation poses in your timeline try turning off time slider snapping in settings. With vertices moving smoothly you see much better what's going on.
To toggle, drag this to your shelf as MEL:
timeControl -e -snap (!`timeControl -q -snap $gPlayBackSlider`) $gPlayBackSlider;
