I've never really forgiven #ruggerodeodato for the animal killings in Cannibal Holocaust and avoided the film for years but he essentially invented found footage horror and there's a scene near the end that's exceptional and still shocking.

He also made the House on the Edge of the Park, one of the few films that genuinely deserved to be on the BBFC's video nasty list. It leans heavily on the original Last House on the Left and, if anything, is more disturbing.
