I left Reddit after the API controversy. I decided to try adding some subreddits to my rss reader, just to peak at them without using the official app. So many of my old communities are just. Gone. Mostly smaller communities. The mods lost their tools, became overwhelmed with bots, and just shut down. I’m heartbroken at the loss of so many online communities lately. #RIPReddit
Deleted #Reddit and #Twitter in the past 24 hours. Feels weird to “start over” with social media after years of familiarity, but change is sometimes for the best! #ripapollo #RIPTwitter #ripreddit

And just like that, Sync for Reddit and thus Reddit is gone. At least for me.
Farewell Sync, my friend, you were a good one.
#Sync was one of the few apps I paid for, hearing that its developer is working on Sync For Lemmy gives me hope.
In the meantime, are there any good Lemmy clients for Android? What are you using?
Oh fuck I just figured out how the #reddit voting on moderators thing is gonna work.
They're not gonna let just any old subreddit participant vote; to vote, you'll need to be VERIFIED. And how do you get verified?
By paying reddit $8 a month.
They're gonna do it.
They'll burn it all.

Maybe #kbin is something for you, it is in early beta I heard, but @jerry is bold enough to setup an instance at fedia.io. This is also part of the #fedivers

Hold on, isn't Reddit just Usenet News? Except without the useful ontology.
#ripreddit indeed.
Remember when people ran bulletin boards just because they wanted to make a nice gathering place for their community and friends?
Sigh. Don’t want to accidentally open it so I’ve deleted #Apollo for my iPhone. When I get home I’ll log out on my Mac so I don’t accidentally log in there either.
