I like #RiskOfRain much more than #RiskOfRain2, and only now I realized why.

I've always played the former with Artifact of Glass enabled, which makes the player very fragile, but also able to quickly destroy everything on screen, similarly to #VampireSurvivors.

The same concept wasn't translated at all to the 3D sequel, which made enemies harder to hit, heavily decreased the damage granted by Glass, and put a strong focus on getting the "correct" item build, which made the game repetitive...

If you never played the original Risk of Rain, it's a sort of 2D action-platformer with roguelike elements, randomized items, and a sort of Smash Bros-like ability system where each character has 4 unique abilities with cooldowns. The abilities usually synergize, so each character has a different way of playing that you have to master.

My favorite is the Sniper, who has a super powerful rifle but it has to be skillfully reloaded after each shot. #riskofrain

Being not a huge gamer, I don't often get the experience of being excited by trailers... but here is a rare exception! I adore the original Risk of Rain and seeing it in animated form here is a real treat. Can't wait for this to come out next year! #riskofrain #riskofrainreturns
