Playing through Hades as the updates applied in Early Access was awesome. The game in general satiated my desire for "the best game". I'm not sure it will ever be topped for me. Trailers and announcements come out, and my friends talk about them, but they all land flat because Hades was just that good.

Yea #Diablo4 is great, but have you ever played #RiskofRain2 with a friend?

I like #RiskOfRain much more than #RiskOfRain2, and only now I realized why.

I've always played the former with Artifact of Glass enabled, which makes the player very fragile, but also able to quickly destroy everything on screen, similarly to #VampireSurvivors.

The same concept wasn't translated at all to the 3D sequel, which made enemies harder to hit, heavily decreased the damage granted by Glass, and put a strong focus on getting the "correct" item build, which made the game repetitive...

Thinking about how #RiskOfRain2 is such a fantastic example of how to nail core gameplay loops with early access launch day gameplay being only like 3 or 4 maps, no ending, half the characters and items, and still such a phenomenal gameplay loop to go through with friends over and over.

Need to play with friends more to get help understanding some of the newer items and game modes, and I guess picking up the DLC eventually since I don't own it yet seemed to be fine in a game using it?

So I caved to some nudging from a friend and bought #Returnal on #Steam today. I like it! Some day 1 release bugs I'm sure they'll patch here pretty quick, but it's got good vibe, movement and combat's pretty fluid, and coop works pretty well. Some parts remind me of #RiskOfRain2, and obvs there's some #soulsLike stuff going on. I recommend it! :)
