There's a good chance both will end up at the same school (albeit in very different programs).

It's going to be THE CUTEST THING. Also pretty handy. Also also it turns out each student gets a 10% discount for having a sibling at the same school. Also also also still the cutest.

I was just thinking about school spirit/pride and how I've never quite understood it
In high school, I felt very little school spirit except maybe pride in the music department, though that was more comradery with my friends

Now that I'm in college, I assumed I'd be more enthusiastic about my school bc I chose to be here, and I'm enthusiastic about how amazing the queer community here is, so many incredible people
But the school
I'm not that proud of #RIT , it works but it has so many issues and really doesn't care about us as students

Rochester Institute of Technology is making their voice heard
we had a vaccine mandate until a few months ago. There was a petition to reinstate it with 700 votes (a lot for the official petition site here), no substantive response. One of the student government members mentioned it to RIT President Munson at a meeting, he wasn't even willing to discuss it.

Also, so many students can barely afford to be here, and are working multiple jobs, not to mention it'll be worse next year with a 10% bump in tuition

We sent a kid to #RIT from 2017-2021 for ~54k/yr. We got two accepted there this year. We can probably pull that off.

Just found out 1 week before drop-dead that the total cost is now 75k/yr. 50% hike in just a couple years? What??

Am I missing something obvious here or is this particular school an outlier?

17 (one of twins) just got accepted into Rhode Island School of #Design (#RISD) after already being accepted into School of #Art Institute of Chicago (#SAIC).

The thing is...she doesn't really want to go to #artschool. She wants an art education at a regular school so she gets more rounded and exposure.

I think she's leaning towards #RIT, which has a surprisingly strong #MFA program.

I have fraternal #twins. We just learned that both got accepted into #RIT.

I think it's adorable thinking of them both there. Both twins would loudly disagree with me, but one would secretly love it while the other secretly didn't care.

They would be in completely different sub-schools (#Art vs #ComputerScience #GameDesign) and probably never see each other, but still.

Dropped the car off for an inspection and a software update. Had some time to kill, so I walked about a mile down the road to get some coffee. It’s amazing how pedestrian-hostile this part of the #RochesterNY area is. I’m less than two miles from #RIT. Everything here is divided by multi-lane roads. Could be amazing if they made this area friendly to pedestrians and cyclists. #walkability
