With the sun starting to fade on Saturday, I rushed out for a quick walk with my #Panasonic FZ330 camera to see if I could find any wildlife on the #RiverDee.
Unfortunately, there was nothing!
However, on my walk back I stopped in at a small local park called Allan Park, located on the western edge of #Aberdeen in #scotland 🏴
The park is small and features a large pond which was initially designed to be a skating and curling rink when the park opened in 1897. ⛸️
However, now it is a small #wildlife haven with the pond overgrown with plants and other wildlife (I saw a pair of ducks wading through the water). 🦆
Surrounding the park are a number of large trees and bushes which is where I saw this wonderful #chaffinch perched on a branch in the middle of the bushes.🌳
I really liked the way it was composed - with the #bird clearly visible through a gap with a frame of green leaves and branches.
I've photographed a few recently, and there's something I really quite like about them.

One of my favourite photos of 2022, taken at this very time of year, before the start of Spring. It felt a dead place, the graveyard & redundant welsh church in the Dee Valley. I was reflecting on the death of my own once lively christian faith, which for long years controlled the way I saw the world. I found a new way seeing, new Light, as it were. The dark winter days are passing. Everything passes.
