An Otter, hunting in the River Don. Pure luck again - I was nearby when I saw a group of people gathered at an area of the river. Lo and behold an otter was very near to the bank. We watched it for about an hour and a half on a freezing cold morning in January 2018 as it dipped in and out of the water feeding.
One of the photos was shown for a couple of seconds on the BBC Springwatch morning spin-off show Wild Academy.

Kingfishers are relatively rare in Scotland, and maybe just the one breeding pair in Aberdeen. It took me 18 months to finally be in the right place at the right time to get this photo. I had a few shots prior to this day but it was always obscured by branches.
