#Wildfire 5 miles N/NE of #Yuma, W of Laguna Dam Rd/N of E County 6th St. in #YumaCounty is burning on both sides of the Colorado River.

Estimated 100+ acres

Local #riverfire wildfire is 30% contained and evacuation warnings have been lifted. Glad our preparations ended up as a drill. I definitely have extra incentive to work on some small-scale woodland management.

@neauoire the spread has slowed a bit thanks to the diligent work of the fire brigrades and merciful reversal in wind direction. https://www.fire.ca.gov/incidents/2021/8/4/river-fire/. But preparation for evacuation has helped me realize that everything I truly care about (including wife and unborn child) can fit in a mid-size sedan. #riverfire
