Either #NYCParksAndRecreation or #RiversideParkConservancy planted about 5 native
cherry trees at 100th street ramp of the #WestSideHighway . A very clever undertaking.

The #RiversideParkConservancy has created an incredibly large #pollinator meadow north of tennis courts at 119th. You may also see some very cute #goats.

A what is it called? I'll be asking people at the Riverside Parks Conservancy who obviously put these things here because trucks kept going around the barricades. Now only a RPC gator can get through or a pedestrian, a jogger or a bicyclist.

@anuckols @atthenius @Lyle Yes I have read about them and I know that at the #RiversideValleyCommunityGarden we grow things that would definitely benefit. We also now have a tiny greenhouse that now will have a tiny fan that will require power. I don't run the garden. I have to convince the people at the garden, #NYCPark and the #RiversideParkConservancy to create a demonstration or pilot. I will do that.
It may enhance fundraising efforts in which case its an easier sell.

Just told a few people at the #RiversideParkConservancy that I want to extend the planting north on both the #WestSideHighway and #CherryWalk.

@gbhnews @oldmanmike @NPR I asked the people who provided the #goats to the #RiversideParkConservancy and they didn't also provide #pigs and knew of no one who did. People are always going on about how smart pigs are. Do all old pigs become ham?

Just went through all my photos from my goat patrol and herding from summer 2022. Other than the initial photos of those goats, they are entirely photos of trash and homeless shelters.

Some of the Riverside Park Conservancy's (RPC) four summer 2022 goats which livedin a large pen in Riverside Park between the 119th Street Tennis courts and Riverside Drive.Their purpose was ostensibly to eat invasive vines and invasive multiflora rose. How much of that they did is debatable. What they did which is without question is raise the profile of RPC, involve young volunteers, provide a local attraction and petting zoo.

@SallyABL This photo reminded me to report this lovely Eastern Red Cedar that has an invasive mulberry encroaching on it. I reported it to the NYC Parks department and the #RiversideParkConservancy. If they don't remove it or cut it down I may do so myself.

Took extremely enlightening and inspiring tour of the northern part of Riverside Park with the Riverside Park Conservancy. Before this I had no idea how much has been done there. A lot has been done. Totally incredible.

@rbellinger Not #NYC news media but got a callback from what was DOITT asking to clarify my 1/5/2023 correspondence #1-1-3728924 saying NYC absolutely should not use privately-owned sites to communicate. If nothing else DOITT should immediately setup fediverse servers for each NYC agency or organization. Fortunately the callback came right after twitter had blocked a DC agency. Have said similar to social media person at #RiversideParkConservancy. Not their decision.

Preserving the past at the expense of our children? Logic? #MayorAdams cuts #schools, #socialServices, etc, but finds funding for monument maintenance? From Riverside Park Conservancy CEO Merritt Birnbaum: "I have some fantastic news to share with you: Yesterday, Mayor Adams released his preliminary budget, which includes $62.3 million in funding for the restoration of the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument and Plaza in Riverside Park."
