A longish story about this picture. Many years ago the dying tree on the left was out the front of a farm near where I still walk today. Left there were 2 childrens trikes that slowly over the years embedded themselves in the trees 2 trunks. The farm has gone & what remains is a paddock where kangaroos like to graze. If you scroll in you can just barely still see the last bits of metal remains of the trikes in the sad looking trunks. Now to the green bikes. I noticed these bikes behind the bushes in the back of the picture a good 18mths ago & thought they were dumped, so was pleasantly & happily surprised to see this feature on my walk today. I’ve walked here for around 25 odd years now & I’ve seen a lot of different things & changes but this is kind of the best yet. It’ll be sad when the tree finally gives up, but I don’t think I’ll see it - but I never say never 😃. #RiverWalk #Trees #Bicycles

taking photos into the sun is supposed to be a no-no, but hey, i can't exactly spin the Earth around to where i want it for a shot. :P the light is diffused like that because of all the spray kicked up by the waterfall.

temps rocketed back up to +4C, so decided to go on a hike to the local waterfall. spent 2 hours stumbling over tree roots and escarpment rocks to come away with a few pics. (TLC playing in my head the whole time.) worth it, i think.

in intro #photography classes, they usually teach you about the rule of thirds, and that you're usually supposed to avoid symmetry in your composition. this is a rule i enjoy breaking, however. probably for the same reason i enjoy things like stratification and spirals - some hidden order emerges from the machine.
