They insist we have to pay them the renewal and next year be sure to cancel 28 days in advance. Oh hell no. The card they had on file was expired so - whatever.

Unreal how scummy #Teamviewer is. We used them as a backup quickremote support option if we had any trouble with our RMM or to deal with non managed clients. It did the job simple enough, was white labeled, and we'd used them for years. This year they jacked their prices WAY up, so we decided to finally cancel and move to something else. 2 weeks before our renewal, we try to cancel. "Sorry you must cancel 28 days before your renewal" LOL no. Cancel. They refuse..

Google may have cracked down on ads leading to info-stealer malware, but scams and other shady activity are still easy to find.

For example, if someone were wanting to enter a code for Amazon Prime and were searching for Amazon MyTv, they could easily click on one of these ads.

The phone numbers lead to a "tech support" desk, where someone tries to coerce the user into installing a remote access tool.

Okay, so stop me if I'm wrong here, but this hack could have been avoided by enabling *any* of the security features included in the #RMM software - right? I mean, we use #AnyDesk in my company for remote global support - great platform, super solid, super affordable - anyway, we push out the software to our client machines with a password for our #helpdesk teams (no manual installation). For our more sensitive users (like myself and my team) we have a #2FA code that is also required to remote into said machine. Also, AnyDesk never gets installed on our servers.

So tell me then how a #Federal system (civilian or otherwise), where there are (generally, AFAIK) very strict guidelines in place for baseline configurations and such, doesn't have this set up correctly? Do their #sysadmins not know their systems in production? Is there too much red tape for a checkbox and a password?
