Happy #RNAday! We 💖 RNA because it is providing answers to childhood cancers.
How? While most adult cancers are caused by mutations in DNA that happen as we age, children's cancers are often caused by abnormalities in how genes are expressed or “turned on.” RNA can tell us if an unusual amount of a specific protein is being produced. Sometimes a drug already exists to block that overproduction, giving clinicians a new treatment option!

On this AUG 1, our #NumberOfTheMonth is all about our main object of investigation, ribonucleic acid (RNA). #RNA is composed of four ribonucleotide bases: adenine, cytosine, guanine, and uracil. Happy #RNADay everyone! 🥳
