So while I am suspicious that these stories about the increased damage to roads by electric vehicles may be part of a campaign strategy to detract from electric vehicles - some interesting questions are raised. Currently in Australia a tax on fuel contributes towards the cost of road repairs. Given we charge electric vehicles from the power grid perhaps the power companies should make contributions to road repair.
