Waiʻānapanapa State Park, Maui
Another of the prettiest beaches I've ever seen is on Maui, at the end of the Road to Hana. This was our first time driving the Road to Hana, which is an experience in itself with all the twists and turns.
This black sand beach, though small, was beautiful. An endangered Monk Seal was sleeping on the sand and all the visitors gave it a wide berth so it could rest.

The Kipahulu District of Haleakala National Park on the Hawaiian island of Maui. While Haleakala is known for its beautiful peak, volcanic rock and spectacular vistas, there is another area of the park that is lush with forest, waterfalls and panoramic views of the ocean. Visitors cannot get to the Kipahulu District from the Summit District directly.
