Meyer Shank Racing's Tom Blomqvist has secured the first pole position of the IMSA GTP era with a lap time of 1:34.031 around the Daytona road course, ahead of next week's Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona.
For comparison, Blomqvist's lap time in the Acura ARX-06 GTP is 0.003s faster than the pole time set by Tristan Vautier last year, a 1:34.034 in the Cadillac DPi-V.R.
