1️⃣ Murder-mystery in outer space! With a few likely suspects. The script contrives a silly way to make us think Scotty might actually have done it. The actor playing the real killer - spoiler: it's not Scotty!! - is very good throughout the episode at playing the dual motives of the character. On rewatching, it all hangs together very well.

Robert Bloch (1917-1994) #BOTD

Best known as the writer of #Psycho (1959), the basis for the #Hitchcock film of the same name. Bloch wrote hundreds of short stories and over 30 novels. He was a protégé of H. P. Lovecraft, who was the first to encourage his talent. He was a contributor to pulps such as #WeirdTales in his early career, and ultimately won the Hugo Award (for his story "That Hell-Bound Train"), the Bram Stoker Award, and the World Fantasy Award.

4th book in my #Hitchcock challenge. #Psycho #RobertBloch

Hitchcock really knew how to pick them! 4 out of 4 great books so far, although this is by far the weakest yet. Very similar to the film. Not much in the way of slash and gore. Instead a very good psychological thriller. The last two chapters, where they explain Norman Bate's mental condition, felt unnecessary and somewhat dated, but generally showed sympathy towards people with severe mental health issues, even those who kill!
