Am I the last person to know about #RobertMapplethorpe and his 1982 #Horse #photography? Have thought more than once what we lost when he died.

Tripped over a few of these horse photos on the Getty Museum site, then found more from a show in Aspen, ca. 2010.

Great story behind #television 's #marqueemoon #robertmapplethorpe cover that I probably knew but forgot. I love that the xerox reprocessing of the original photo–instigated by #richardlloyd not #tomverlaine–left open whether the more well known version is properly part of the Mapplethorpe estate.
