Many Rivers to Cross (US)
Packaged and sold as an outdoor actioner, Many Rivers to Cross is as much a comedy as anything else. Robert Taylor stars as 18th century trapper Bushrod Gentry, who is himself entrapped into marriage by the spunky Mary Stuart Cherne (Eleanor Parker). Escaping his marital responsibilities (which were...

Rogue Cop (1954) deals with a subject, police corruption, that was very touchy in the 50s.
Robert Taylor stars and there’s a terrific supporting cast - George Raft, Janet Leigh and Anne Francis.
Robert Taylor shed his matinee idol image in the 50s and gave some great cynical world-weary noir performances.
A tough unsentimental hard-hitting film noir.

Lady of the Tropics (1939) pairs two of the most gorgeous stars of the era, Robert Taylor and Hedy Lamarr. It’s a love story with an exotic setting and it has the further advantage of the famous MGM gloss.
This deliciously overheated 1939 romantic melodrama isn’t generally all that highly thought of but it's actually very very enjoyable.
