Got a couple of robocall "What issues are most important to you: press 1 for Environment, 2 for Economy, 3 for Education etc etc" last night.
they went to Voicemail as I don't answer numbers I don't recognise. Misso got them at same time. 08 6500 2519 if you want to block it. Not sure who it was, maybe a political party, maybe some market research thing.
I suspect a political party as I'm on the Do Not Call Register or whatever it's called.
But now I have to go check if we've got an election coming up. And remind myself who our State Premier is now that Marky retired.

One of the worst offenders by a telephone company is Onvoy doing Inteliquent.

I normally report the calls and then block the 10,000 number block associated with Onvoy.

Had yet another #robocall #scamcall on my #AAISP SIP line this morning. I've fallen down a rabbit hole: how can I block these calls?
The spectrogram is very distinctive. Call pickup is followed by an unnaturally low noise level for a couple of seconds.
Then there's a blip.
Then the noise level absolutely rockets.

First #robocall of the day has already been received. #drlalpathlabs is nasty.

The latest #robocall scam: Robocallers are setting up Caller ID so that the caller name comes in as “Probably Safe”. The cell phone companies could recognize this and block the call but are not because they want to be paid for completion.

Got a call from “John” speaking on behalf of the local #police soliciting for a donation. The conversation went back and forth, then I realized it was a #robocall. I was surprised at how responsive John was, but managed to knock him off his game by asking what the #airspeed #velocity was of an #unladen #swallow. The #AI began to babble about not understanding and I disappointedly ended the call. Maybe next time, John.
