My parents received a "Wetteronline home 3" device as a gift for testing. But they would give it away.
Via USB I got the info that it is a processor from "Fuzhou #Rockchip Electronics Company".
Has anyone ever flashed this thing? If so, you could do with it nice things, has sensors and Wlan on board and a 10" touchscreen. - But probably you can only #flash it when you disassemble it... :/

Porting #linux to an almost 10 year old tablet is fun until you have to deal with Broadcom wifi stuff.🙈
I would be glad about every debugging tip!😅

Megi's rk2aw tool can change the boot ROM bootloader load order on some devices with Rockchip processors to make it easier to boot first from an SD card. Works with the PinePhone Pro and other devices with RK3399, RK3588, and RK3566/68 chips. https://xnux.eu/rk2aw/

#TuringPi2 #RK1 #RockChip boards are open for pre-order and they seem to be going for 32GB RAM versions this time. Meanwhile, the #RaspberryPI #ComputeModule are still scarce. This seems to top those with features though. the real world application is to be seen.

The “desktop” offerings for the #ARM 8-core #Rockchip RK3588 are impressive! It may not be the Ampere Altra dev kit, but quite a step up from the #RaspberryPi 4. I’ve got to get more momentum with #illumos so I can justify one of these as dev kit.

Entering the world of #ARM #SBC that aren't rpi? Maybe a #rockchip powered board?
Go ahead and just buy a 5 pack of these. They'll handle the baud rates

Caved and ordered some rk3588 SBCS - in full knowledge that their mainline support is not usable at the moment... I am an eternal optimist :
